1. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, directed by Robert Wiene (10/10)

This is one of those 1920s German horror films that any film fan interested in the history of film technique must see. I mean, this is pretty much where ’20s German Cinema’s legacy of greatness originates; this film pretty much started it all. It has lost none of its wonder, even if it is hardly scary for modern audiences. One of the essential films of the decade.
